Pheobe Bag made again

I had made a 25% reduction of the Phoebe Bag like 3 years ago and this pattern is totally my favoritest for purses. I remember sewing two pockets on the older one, the second photo shows what that tiny bag was stuffed with... On my last trip to India I saw it gathering dust at my mum's so its still alive!
       
This time I wanted to do a little bigger bag but something that would fit in a couple of fat quarters. It turns out that if you reduce the pattern to 75% it fits perfectly well.. you just have to carefully place and cut the patterns pieces out though... The green polka dot side is the lining... guess I could use it both ways if I hadn't made the closure flap:

       
Its the first time I've used a magnetic closure thingie.. And I'm not sure I'd use it again.. because it is quite bulky and heavy and because I'd mostly be sewing stuff of fabric wile in Australia for the next lot of years until I"m filthy rich to afford leatherette for experimentation.. Its seriously cheap in India I'd made a wallet for the ex's uncle according to his liking when he saw it he said its just like the store bought ones I wanted something narrower and I made another right then for him.. he loved it.. I didn't have any use for the first one so asked him to keep it too.... Right.. befor eI digress into how I want to make another wallet.. here's a close up of the magnetic snap closure:

I just wanted a little bag I could hang on my shoulder to hold some foldable grocery bags in it when I went out (I don't have the car anymore so its making sure I remember to carry this bag out.... It'd be hard to forget the Pheobe bag, now won't it?).. I hate the top stitching.. Its horrible as you can see near the flap.. I used a thick interfacing for the lining and it was a nightmare doing the whole sewing.. I think that the interfacing is a bit too thick to be used in normal projects.. I loved how it gave a good definition to the bag though as you can see its holding its own in the first and third photo.

Since I've made this bag I've taken it out quite a few times. I love how small and convenient it is and carries my wallet, phone and a small folded grocery bag just fine. Now I can wear skirts and not have to worry about no pocket to hold my wallet and phone. I"m real glad I made this one!
