Sketch Pen Satchel

I wanted to do one of those craft book + pen holders for a long time. I don't have any children of my own (yet) to make these for, but they're so adorable, I wanted one for myself.. When I got a set of mini-sketch pens that are like 3.5 inches tall I just had to make one... Plus I had this sparkly fabric I was itching to use for something too.. guess they found the perfect use for themselves... this:


I added a little golden lace as a fastner because I didn't want the velvet fabric on the inside to get snared on the hooks of the velcro tape.. The lace barely holds the top down.. The whole satchel thing is a little too snug and I might do another one just for the heck of it.

    
You can see that I sewed on a pocket at the back. The pocket wass intended to hold a tiny diary I had but like the rest of the satchel, the pocket's a little too small for the diary to fit in. I don't mind it though, I think its cute. So cute that it may soon have siblings of its own.. those that are not as malnourished as this one is.
