Merry Christmas

Hey all, Merry Christmas to you and your families.. especially to my little Bunny Boo!!!! x

This year I made a Christmas wreath for the front of my place that's a little bigger than a doghouse.. I love it though! And this is where I felt a little bit at peace than most of my life.. About as close as it gets to being a real home and I'm the only human living here.. accompanied of course by my little bubby panther, Coco, his guardian angel, Mogambo, Snoopster and Tazzie(who's right now in his Tazzie-heaven... can't describe what that is on a children friendly blog ;)

I had no clue how you'd make a wreath but had the basic idea in my head.. yesterday I figured its Christmas eve today and I'd better get the wreath prepared if I"m really going to make one.. I went scouting for some twigs and right outside my house on the road divider (where there are many gigantic Euclyp trees) was a neat pile of euclyptus twigs placed by the friendly Fairies all ready for me to pick.. It was magical... It was liht and sunny just enough for me to get the pile and return home and the wind started blowing as I shut my door... The leprechauns must've really been in a helpful mood... maybe a little help from my Bunny too (who's hyperventilating right now because I haven't mentioned him so far... there.. he's all happy chappy now)

After I arranged the twigs and tied with some jute/burlap thread.. it sat nicely but just to make it a bit more robust I tied black sewing thread all around it as you can see in its making part 1 photo:

To be honest I was happy with the look of the wreath as-is in the above photo and was jsut going to add some Kanzashi flowers from all these clover templates I'd bought a few days ago (I think the wreath idea must've been born just out of the desire to showcase/sample how the Kanzashi flowers turned out).. But I thought the wreath could do with a little paint.. I went out in the morning today to get some spray paint at this local op-shop I know but they didn't have any and I was too lazy to go looking elsewhere.. But what they did have was a ton of Christmas decoration stuff for sale for real cheap. That's where I bought $1 each of the pine ribbon thingie and the bells from (and another $35 of I"m not sure what but mostly crafty junk). I did get some glitter paint that I painted on the euclyp beries if you can notice any.. but it wasn't a lot of help in really covering their base color what it did, though, was give then a kind of sheen that I'm real pleased about..

I was torn between red or white for the flowers. I had even cut of 4 each of both colors.. I went with the white as you can see on the wreath because of no particular reason other than maybe my Bunny would like it more.. nah.. not sure.. maybe because the dark green of the pine would aesthetically make a good background for a lighter colored flower... I love how they look on it.. like I said I had planned on making a total of 8 flowers to put but just the three I have on seem enough.. I didn't want a too crowded look.. I think I like the simplicity of the way this thing's turned out...

And that's how it looks on my undusted old haggard door.. Now that my door number's nicely concealed at least I can tell myself that the reason I don't have any mail is because the postman couldn't find my address.

The ribbon's been really manhandled because my nails are in a dire need of some TLC and the ribbon kept getting snagged on them.. I don't really care though.. This is the first time I've ever done a wreath.. for that matter really seen a wreath up close.. let alone make one... and I totally LOVE how its turned out.. I'm so proud to be one of those neighbours now that do spread the spirit of Christmas by having a happy welcome wreath on their doors.
