I saw this serisouly cute pattern for
pulse warmers on Moogly's
10 Marvelous Crochet Fingerless Mitts Patterns roundup. I'd been trying to learn to knit using this simple project with beginners patterns that don't take up too much time or yarn, But when I saw these I just had to try em.. Never too old to learn a new crochet stitch (the Crocodile stitch), eh? BS! Whom am I kidding I'm very much a beginner at crocheting too, just gotten the hang of what exactly a stich count means and where exactly to insert the hook when they say things like slip stitch in round or don't end round, etc. The crocodile stitch is a very cool stitch.. It doens't take too long to do and the result is amazing.. The tutorial described it quite well on how to do it. This is pretty much he first stitch I learnt without YouTube.. I'm surprised I did it.. I was always too afraid to try.. thinking it'd bee too complicated seeing how I went with the shell stitch which sort of looks similar but less scary.
I love the name she gave them too, pulse warmers.. now that's a project that looks cool and sounds even cooler!
I'd done the tops for the mitts a for few days and was avoiding doing the knitted portion... just because it was knitting..
I sat a couple nights ago to finish one.. I decided I wasn't going to knit.. but crochet the rest of them and this is what I got.
The crocheting happens to be inside out. I had a fix to it.. I decided I'd fold the cuffs so the RightSide was facing out.. It was alright to look at that way... but they're really loose for my hands.. I just couldn't bring myself to do the other one.. knowing what crocheting the cuffs was going to turn it into. I could use a tighter weave for them.. but that'd mean either creating a newer, third, set of PulseWarmer top or unraveling the old one I've got that's too loose.... Unfortunately, I haven't got time for either option.. I'm off to a new city and will be donating all my yarn. Yayyyyyyyyyy
